Fresher’s Day 2024: A Warm Welcome to New Beginnings

On the momentous occasion of July 10, 2024, our esteemed college exuberantly embraced its first-year students through a magnificent Fresher’s Day celebration, heralding the dawn of an exhilarating chapter in their academic pursuits.

The day commenced at the auspicious hour of 10:00 AM with a solemn prayer, enveloping the gathering in a tranquil and welcoming ambiance. In a poignant and eco-conscious gesture aligned with the college’s steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship, the first-year students, accompanied by their parents, participated in the ceremonial planting of medicinal saplings within the verdant expanse of the college garden—an enduring symbol of growth, renewal, and fresh beginnings.

Infusing the occasion with vivacity, senior students from the second and third years orchestrated a spirited procession dance, extending a jubilant and heartfelt welcome to their juniors.

The formal indoor proceedings unfolded with the reverent rendering of the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, succeeded by a mellifluous prayer song and poignant readings from sacred scriptures, embodying the ethos of unity and spiritual harmony. Dr. C. Bavithra, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics, delivered an eloquent and inspiring welcome address, setting an elevated tone for the day’s events.

The highlight of the celebration was an edifying address by the distinguished chief guest, Rev. Fr. George Suresh Kumar of the Diocese of Parramatta, Australia. His profound words galvanized the young women, urging them to approach their education with unwavering resolve and purposeful ambition, leaving an indelible impact on all present.

The program radiated with the creative brilliance of our students: a soul-stirring poem recitation by Ms. Nandhini of II B.Com, and a mesmerizing dance performance by the Fine Arts Club, which infused the gathering with artistic charm and boundless energy.

In a gesture of inclusivity and mutual respect, parents were invited to share their reflections and provide valuable suggestions, fostering a collaborative spirit and strengthening the bonds of the college community.

The event concluded on a note of gratitude, with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Nathiya, Assistant Professor of English, followed by the resonant chords of the National Anthem.

The Fresher’s Day 2024 celebration was a splendid tapestry of joy, inspiration, and camaraderie—a radiant beginning that promises a transformative journey for the first-year students as they embark on their academic and personal odyssey.
